The Red Hawks outlast Pasco Hernando in high-scoring affair, 10-8

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Red Hawks and Pasco Hernando, as the two teams put up 18 runs combined in a 10-8 a Red Hawks win.  Both teams combined for 24 hits, including four extra base hits.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

The Red Hawks took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. The Red Hawks  went up for good on an RBI double by Skyler Strickland, scoring Trever Lee.

Josh Bottenfield got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He tossed 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball. Bottenfield struck out three, walked one and gave up no hits.

Mykel Davis, Lee and Strickland helped lead the Red Hawks as they combined for six hits and three RBIs.

 

In the top of the third, Pasco Hernando grabbed the early lead, 4-0. But the Red Hawks quickly matched Pasco Hernando's strong inning with a seven-run inning of its own in the third. The Red Hawks scored on a two-run double by Lee, an RBI single by Alex Minton, an RBI single by Lou Matarazzo, a sacrifice fly by Danny Sullivan, and a passed ball.

Pasco Hernando scored two runs in the seventh inning, and then followed it up with two more in the eighth. In the seventh, Pasco Hernando scored on a two-run home run.
