Phillip Black's effort not enough to carry the Red Hawks Varsity past Pitt , 4-1

Phillip Black did his best to change the outcome, but Black couldn't carry the Red Hawks past Pitt as the Red Hawks lost 4-1 in seven innings on Wednesday.

Black shut down Pitt while he was on the rubber. Black gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out one during his two innings of work.

Justin Norton couldn't get it done on the hill for the Red Hawks, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

Pitt never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on a two-run home run.

Pitt brought home one run in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the fourth, Pitt scored on an RBI double.

The Red Hawkslone run of the ballgame came in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Danny Sullivan.
