Red Hawks Drops 8-5 game to Cuyahoga

Skyler Strickland did all he could to give the Red Hawks a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Cuyahoga, as the Red Hawks lost 8-5 in seven innings on Saturday.

Strickland had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the fourth and seventh innings.

The game's last lead went to Cuyahoga thanks to a first inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on a two-run single.  Cuyahoga increased its lead with three runs in the fourth.

Two runs in the bottom of the fifth helped the Red Hawks close its deficit to 6-2. A two-run single by Strickland sparked the Red Hawks rally.

 

Three runs in the bottom of the sixth helped the Red Hawks close its deficit to 8-5. An error, a passed ball, and a groundout by Mykel Davis set off Catawba Valley Community College Red Hawks Varsity rally, but a fly out ended the the Red Hawks comeback.
