Red Hawks drops high-scoring affair to Brunswick , 10-9

The Red Hawks fell 10-9 to Brunswick on Friday despite racking up 13 hits and nine runs.

Thomas Waddell racked up two RBIs on three hits. He singled in the fifth, eighth, and ninth innings.

Brunswick was sparked by Stewart and Stephens, who teamed up for seven hits and two RBIs.

The bottom of the first saw the Red Hawks take an early lead, 4-0. Ivan Acuna kicked things off for with a single. Randal Ortiz singled, scoring Trever Lee. The Red Hawks then tacked on more runs when Acuna scored on a fielder's choice, Sullivan scored on an error, and Waddell scored on an RBI single by Brandon Ford.

The Red Hawks pushed one run across in each of the third, fifth and ninth. In the third, the Red Hawks scored on an RBI single by Andrew Meadows, bringing home Waddell.

Brunswick matched its one-run fifth inning with one more in the eighth. In the fifth, Brunswick scored on an RBI single.

Brunswick didn't relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the seventh inning when it scored on two doubles and an RBI triple.

One run in the bottom of the ninth helped the Red Hawks close its deficit to 10-9. An RBI single by Waddell gave the Red Hawks Varsity. The Red Hawks Clay Hodges flew out to end the ballgame.
