Red Hawks late runs seal 12-4 win over Southeastern

The CVCC Red Hawks beat Southeastern 12-4 on Saturday thanks to a five-run eighth inning.

The Red Hawks scored in the eighth on a two-run error,  and a three-run home run by Brandon Ford.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with seven lead changes.

The Red Hawks took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. A passed ball scored Danny Sullivan to give them the lead for good.

The Red Hawks hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs  came when Ivan Acuna homered in the third inning and Alex Minton homered in the seventh inning.

Trever Lee, Acuna, Alex Minton and Ford combined for six hits and six RBIs.

In the bottom of the third, the Red Hawks grabbed the early lead, 2-0. Clay Hodges singled to start things off before Acuna homered, bringing home Hodges.

The Red Hawks pushed across one run in both the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, the Red Hawks scored, plating Lee.

The Red Hawks answered Southeastern's top inning with one run of its own in the sixth scoreing on a fielder's choice.
