Despite hit advantage, the Red Hawks drop 7-5 game to Wake Tech

The Red Hawks lost 7-5 in seven innings on Saturday, despite outhitting Wake Tech nine to seven.

Ivan Acuna had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He doubled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Wake Tech didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning when it scored on an RBI double and an RBI single.

The Red Hawks posted one run in each of the first, fourth and sixth. In the first, they scored on an RBI double by Acuna, plating Clay Hodges.

A two-run home run helped Wake Tech score four runs in the second.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fifth, the Red Hawks faced just a 7-4 deficit. An RBI double by Acuna and a sacrifice fly by Danny Sullivan sparked the Red Hawks rally. Brandon Ford struck out to end the Red Hawks threat.

One run in the bottom of the sixth helped the Red Hawks close its deficit to 7-5. An RBI single by Ty Andrus triggered the Red Hawks comeback, but an inning-ending fly out ended the threat.
