McFall leads balanced Red Hawks in 105-56 victory

KINSTON, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College men's basketball team stretched its winning streak to four games on Saturday afternoon with a 105-56 road victory against Lenoir Community College.

Jonathan McFall led the Red Hawks (14-4, 6-3 in Region X) with 16 points — one of six CVCC men's basketball players who reached double figures in scoring, including Cole Johnson (14 points), Everett Palmer (13), Isayah Johnson (12), Zach De La Cruz (11) and Brandon Reeves (11).

Led by Johnson's 14 first-half points, CVCC took a commanding 52-26 lead at halftime against the Lancers (6-11, 3-7 in Region X).

The Red Hawks continued their pace in the second half, outscoring the Lancers 53-30 in the second half to record their third 100-point game of the season. The 53 points are the most in a half this season by CVCC.

Catawba Valley connected on 14 3-pointers during Saturday's contest — four from Johnson and three apiece from De La Cruz and Palmer.

The CVCC men's basketball team goes for its fifth-straight win on Sunday when it takes on conference leader Pitt in Winterville, N.C. Tip off between the Red Hawks and Bulldogs is set for 3 p.m.
