Red Hawks win third-straight, top Trojans 77-61

MT. OLIVE, N.C. — Behind 19 points from Tanisha Wall and Shaniya Lester, the Catawba Valley Community College women's basketball team won its third-straight game on Tuesday, defeating the Mt. Olive JV squad, 77-61.

The Red Hawks (4-1) gained a 35-30 lead at halftime against the Trojans, led by 12 first-half points by Wall.

Lester helped CVCC extend its lead by scoring 13 of her 19 points in the second half of the contest, helping Catawba Valley cruise to the non-conference victory.

Nikkyana McCaskill also reached double figures in scoring for the Red Hawks with 12 points.

The CVCC women's basketball team is back in action on Sunday when it travels to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on the Converse JV team at 1 p.m.
