Red Hawks sign Ashbrook guard Trinity Jones

HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley women's basketball program has announced the signing of Ashbrook High School standout Trinity Jones.

"I'm excited to have Trinity as a part of the CVCC family," said Catawba Valley head women's basketball coach Tisha England. "Trinity plays point guard and shooting guard. She brings creativity and leadership to the team. I'm looking forward to helping her be a better student-athlete."

This past season for the Green Wave, Jones was selected as one of four captains, anchoring a team that went 30-1 this past winter and reached the state Final Four in the 3A ranks.

Jones averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.0 steals per game during her final prep basketball season at Ashbrook, and she finished her four-year Green Wave career with 102-12 record on the court.

On top of her scoring ability, Jones was durable, never missing a single game in her high school career. Because of her toughness, she was recently honored with the Iron Lady Way award by the Green Wave coaching staff.

Jones becomes the fourth member of the 2018-19 CVCC women's basketball recruiting class, joining Alexander Central's KeyKey Miller, Chapel Hill's Aniya Taylor, Sugar Creek Charter's Shamicah Sturdivant and South Caldwell's Payton Kale.
