Tisha England enters her 11th season as the head women's basketball coach at Catawba Valley Community College in 2023-24.

During her tenure as head coach, England has led the Red Hawks to a 201-97 overall record. She is also the first and only women's basketball coach in Catawba Valley history with 200 coaching wins and only the second coach in Catawba Valley Athletics history with 200 or more coaching victories.

In the 2022-23 season, England guided Catawba Valley to its first-ever appearance at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament held in Port Huron, Mich.

England led the Red Hawks to a 13-5 overall record and 8-4 mark in Region 10 games in a shortened 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two Red Hawks — A.J. Davis and Kelis Carmon — were named All-Region 10 performers on the court, while Red Hawks' Kenzley Dunlap, Astou Seck, Tre'zha Muhammad, Camari Jeter and Davis were named Academic All-Region 10.

In the 2019-20 season, England led the Red Hawks to a 22-2 overall record and 14-0 mark in Region X play  — claiming the program's third conference championship. The Red Hawks also ranked in the top 10 nationally during most of the 2019-20 season. England was named the 2019-20 Region X Coach of the Year — the second time she achieved that honor in her career.

During the 2018-19 season, England guided her Red Hawks to a 24-6 overall record, 17-3 mark in Region 10 games and the Region X regular-season conference championship.

England led the Red Hawks to a record-setting season in 2017-18, including a 26-6 overall record and 20-2 mark in conference play. The 26 wins are the second most in a season by a CVCC women's basketball team in school history. As part of her team's success, England was named the 2017-18 Region X Coach of the Year — the first time in her career that she's received this honor.

Before starting her coaching career, England was a standout athlete at Newton-Conover High School, where she garnered All-American Honors. She was named Gatorade State Player of the Year in women's basketball in 1987-88, and her No. 32 jersey at NCHS is the only number to be retired at the school. England is also a member of the Newton-Conover Sports Hall of Fame, where she was inducted into the inaugural class in 2010. England is also a member of the Catawba County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2013.

In 2013, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) named England one of its '100 to Remember' — a list that includes the top 100 female high school athletes to ever play across the state of North Carolina.

Following her prep career, England went on to play at USC-Aiken, where she was a two-time all-conference performer. She also is the only male or female basketball player at USC-Aiken to earn Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year honors. She holds the Pacer and conference scoring average records at 20 points per game, and her No. 32 jersey was the third to be retired in USC-Aiken history. She was inducted into the inaugural USC-Aiken Sports Hall of Fame on Nov. 30, 2007.

England obtained her B.A. in Education at USC-Aiken, and she has taught in public and private schools for over 13 years.

England spent three seasons from 2010-13 as an Catawba Valley assistant women's basketball coach under Tommy Edwards, becoming an integral part in the success of the Red Hawks program — instilling an unrelenting work ethic and developing team chemistry. Edwards credits England with the success experienced by the Red Hawks in the 2012-13 season, which included tallying a 30-1 record and claiming a Carolinas-Virginia Conference championship.

England was promoted to the head coach of the CVCC women's basketball program following the 2012-13 season after Edwards announced his retirement.

In her first season as head coach, England guided the Red Hawks to a 21-7 record and 11-4 mark in the conference platy. The Red Hawks made a run to the district semifinals, and two of her players were named to the All-Region X team. England also coached Kadesha Gibbs, who was named an NJCAA First Team All-American and Region X Player of the Year.

An asset off the court, England serves as the Athletic Coordinator in the Learning Resource Center at CVCC, where she has helped steer the academic success of Red Hawk Student-Athletes.

Outside of basketball, England enjoys learning more about the Lord and spending time with her family.
