CVCC's Emma Clark reflects on First Team All-American honorCatawba Valley Community College sophomore volleyball player Emma Clark reflects on being named a First Team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for the second-straight year — the first student athlete in school history to be named a First Team All-American twice in a career.
Clark finished her CVCC career with a record 326 blocks, surpassing former Red Hawk volleyball standout Anna Henderson's mark of 311 blocks.
The former Watauga High School product and Boone, N.C. native also ended her career ranked in the top-three in several statistical categories, including 735 kills (third), 1016.5 points scored (third) and 1.27 blocks per set (second).
2019 CVCC Athletics Hall of Fame recapCatawba Valley Community College officially inducts its first-ever Athletics Hall of Fame class during a special ceremony held on Dec. 2, 2019 at the Workforce Solutions Complex on the campus of CVCC.
Inductees include former golf coach Charlie Bock, former athletic director and men's basketball coach Jeff Moore, former student athletes Daniel Fraga (baseball), Terri Ferber Fulbright (volleyball) and Kadesha Gibbs and the 1990 CVCC National Championship golf team.

The Red Hawks split sets with Carolina Conference South Division powerhouse Emmanuel College. The Hawks lost in straight sets to host Newberry, but rebounded nicely against Limestone winning both sets.

Volleyball Scrimmages with Gardner-WebbThe Red Hawks had a good showing facing NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb. This was the first spring scrimmage of the year for both teams, GWU won the scrimmage 3-1. The Red Hawks had a commanding lead in the first set but were unable to close it out losing 22-25. The 2nd set went better (25-21) for the Hawks with a win to tie up the scrimmage 1-1. The 3rd set was very competitive as the lead changed several times and the Bulldogs finished on top 26-28. In the 4th GWU ended the scrimmage with a score of 20-25.
