Red Hawk baseball announces coaching staff for 2024-25

HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College baseball program has announced its coaching staff heading into the 2024-25 school year.

Pitching coordinator Bryan Harvey and assistant coach Kyle Raynor are back for their third and second seasons, respectively, and new to the CVCC baseball coaching staff is first-year hitting coach Robert Dudley.

Dudley comes to Catawba Valley after spending the past five seasons as head coach at Wake Tech Community College. He won 94 games with the Eagles and helped them reach the Region 10 playoffs three times (2021-23).

Thirty-four of Dudley's student athletes at Wake Tech also reached the four-year level.

"Any time you can add a guy with head coaching experience and recruiting experience like Robert has, it is a big pick up and a blessing for our program," said Catawba Valley head baseball coach Marshall McDonald. "His history of producing of great offenses and being a staple on the recruiting trail are definitely going to make our program better. We couldn't be more excited to have him."

Dudley is excited for the opportunity to join the Red Hawk baseball coaching staff.

"I am very thankful to Marshall and (Athletic Director) Nick (Schroeder) for welcoming my family and I into Red Hawk Nation," Dudley said. "I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to join a program with such a rich history of developing young men and winning baseball games. Hickory has welcomed my family with open arms, and we are excited to be part of the community and the CVCC family."

Harvey returns for his third season as pitching coach for the Red Hawks.

Raynor, who is back for his second season, will primarily work with infielders and operate the team's camps.

"With the returning of coach Kyle Raynor and Brian Harvey, the staff is complete. I am very excited for the season. I can't wait to get through the fall and see what we have when the spring rolls around."
