BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College baseball team advanced to the Region 10/South Atlantic District championship game with three wins this past weekend at Burlington Athletic Park.

The Red Hawks punched their ticket to Friday's championship game with a 4-3 win against Bryant & Stratton in 12 innings on Sunday.

CVCC also defeated Fayetteville Tech 4-3 in 10 innings on Friday and beat Brunswick 4-2 on Saturday.

Due to weather conditions this week, the remainder of the Region 10/South Atlantic District tournament has been moved to Thursday and Friday in Burlington.

Patrick & Henry and Brunswick will play in an elimination game at 3 p.m. Thursday with the winner facing Bryant & Stratton in another elimination game at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Whoever emerges from Thursday's elimination games faces Catawba Valley in the championship game at noon on Friday.

The winner of the Region 10/South Atlantic District tournament receives a big to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament, which takes place from May 24-31 in Enid, Okla.
