HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College softball team earned four wins over the weekend against visiting Southwest Virginia in a pair of doubleheaders played on Friday and Saturday.

The Red Hawks defeated the Flying Eagles 9-1 and 13-1 on Friday in the first doubleheader played at Stanford Park in Hickory before winning 17-3 and 8-0 in Saturday's doubleheader.

The Catawba Valley Community College softball team returns to the diamond on Tuesday for a home conference doubleheader against Cleveland Community College. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Stanford Park in Hickory.
