CVCC women’s hoops to host team, individual camps

HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College women's basketball program is hosting its 2018 team and individual camps on June 14-16 at the Tarlton Complex on the campus of CVCC.

The individual basketball skills camp takes place from 8 a.m. until noon daily (early drop off is also available at 7:30 a.m.) and features hands-on skills development with fundamentals on ball handling, shooting, defensive and passing, as well as many other competitions and fun-filled events.

The cost of the individual skills camp is $90 per camper pre-registered or $100 at the door. Walk ins on the day of the camp must pay in cash. There is also a $50 deposit required by June 1. Checks can be made out to Catawba Valley Community College women's basketball.

The first annual team camp features high school varsity teams battling against each other to display their skills during the event. The camp will also allow participating players to represent their high school and test their individual skills.

Spots are limited to the first 20 schools who register, and the cost is $200 per team. Registration fees must be paid by May 31.

Each participating team is guaranteed at least three games. The first game at the team camp starts at 1 p.m. each day. Games consist of two 18-minute halves (36 minutes total), and college coaches will be present for the camp.
