HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College volleyball program added three more wins to its record Friday with a sweep during the first day of the fourth annual Region X-travaganza held at the Tarlton Complex.

CVCC 3, Richard Bland 0
The Red Hawks opened Region X-travaganza play with a straight sets victory against the Statesmen during both team's first match of the tournament held at noon.
Set scores were 25-10, 25-12 and 25-9.
Adair Melton paced CVCC (10-3) with seven kills, while Emily Williams posted 8 aces.
CVCC 3, Wake Tech 0
Adding to their record 100-0 undefeated conference streak, the Red Hawks defeated the Eagles in consecutive sets during Friday's 3 p.m. match.
Set scores were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-16.
Adair Melton once against led Catawba Valley (11-3, 5-0) with 13 kills, and Sabrina Pinard added six kills. At the net, Leslie Leonard recorded five blocks.
CVCC 3, Guilford Tech 0
Closing out the first day of the Region X-travaganza strong, the Catawba Valley Community College volleyball program defeated Guilford Tech in decisive fashion during Friday's 6 p.m. match.
Leslie Leonard paced the Red Hawks with nine kills, and Adair Melton added seven kills.
The Red Hawks are back in action Saturday with a 10:30 a.m. match against Pitt Community College and a 1:30 p.m. match against USC-Salkehatchie.
