Red Hawks win 14th in last 15 matches, top Cougars

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — The 16th-ranked Catawba Valley Community College volleyball team continued its winning ways on Thursday afternoon, sweeping host Cleveland State in a non-conference road match. 

Set scores were 25-14, 25-20 and 25-13.

The win for CVCC is its 14th in its past 15 matches played.

Siena Naotala paced the Red Hawks (18-7) with nine kills and a .533 hitting percentage, while teammates Rachel Delcamp and Emma Clark added eight and seven kills each, respectively.

Defensively, Clark made a team-high five blocks (four assisted), and the tandem of libero Emily Williams (15) and freshman Madi Bolch (10) combined for 25 digs.

Helping aid the Red Hawk offensive attack were setters Emilee Webber and Macy Pope, who made 15 and 12 assists each.

The Red Hawks will try to add on to their current five-match winning streak on Friday and Saturday at the Wallace State Fall Bash in Hanceville, Ala.

During the two-day tournament, Catawba Valley faces four D-I teams, including Spartanburg Methodist, Coastal Alabama - Bay Minette, Vincennes University and host Wallace State.
