Highlights between Catawba College and tournament host Red Hawks from April 6, 2019 at the Tarlton Complex. The Red Hawks played the Indians three times this spring — once at Elon University, once at home and again at Western Carolina. CVCC lost the first meeting 1-2, won the match at home 2-1 and split sets at Western.
During the April 6 home victory, Sage Harrington dominated at the net with 15 kills with only two errors on 26 attempts (.500 hitting percentage). Emma Clark tallied 14 kills, while Anna Clarke and Zoe Phillips chipped in two kills each. Macy Pope led all setters in assists with 19.
The Red Hawks were able to run their quick swing offense off of the stellar passing from Bre Myers with a 2.6 SR rating and Zoe Phillips also passed an amazing 2.33.
Brooke Falowski led all servers with 2 aces.
On the defensive side, Harrington led in blocking with two solo blocks and six block assists. Clarke had four assists and Clark contributed on three block assists.
In the back court, Bre Myers kept the Red Hawks alive with 12 digs and Abigail Gordon recorded 10 digs.
