Red Hawk volleyball ends regular season with win against USC Salk

ALLENDALE, S.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College volleyball team closed out its 2022 regular season on Friday with a 3-0 conference road victory against USC Salkehatchie.

Set scores were 25-15, 25-11 and 25-15.

Grace Kilby and Alexia Cunningham led the Red Hawk offense with 10 kills apiece. Cunningham also recorded three blocks.

As a team, the Red Hawks tallied a season-high 16 service aces, including four each from Abbey Smith and Kilby.

Defensively, Gracie Harrington led Catawba Valley with 12 digs, and setter Jordan Schlageter led CVCC in assists with 29.

Finishing out the regular season with five wins in its final seven matches, the Catawba Valley Community College volleyball program now prepares for the Region 10 volleyball tournament, which starts this week at host Wake Tech in Raleigh, N.C.
