2021 Red Hawks Volleyball Summer Camps July 26-30

Camp Registration Form

July 26, 27 and 28, 2021   (Cost $125 All Campers will receive a “Red Hawks Camp” T-shirt and a daily snack)

  • Basic Skills Camp (8–11 a.m): geared to beginning players and is offered for players entering first through fifth grades
  • Intermediate Skills Camp (12–3 p.m.): for sixth through 10th graders and will be applicable to entry level as well as experienced players
  • Advanced Skills Camp (4–7 p.m.): for players entering the ninth through 12th grades who have at least two year of playing experience

July 29 and 30, 2021  (Cost $125 All Campers will receive a “Red Hawks Camp” T-shirt and lunch/supper) 

  • All Skills Camp (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
  • ELITE Camp (2–7 p.m.)

July 26-30, 2021  (Cost $25 per player per session)

Coaching


Red Hawk Volleyball Camps are directed by Catawba Valley head volleyball coach Madison Pogue. Instruction for the camp will be provided by the CVCC volleyball coaching staff and current members of the Red Hawks volleyball team, including CVCC assistant coach Adair Melton.

1. Fill out the Camp Registration Form available online at gocvcc.com to print and mail or email to mpogue525@cvcc.edu

2. Fill out & sign the Medical Info-Emergency Contact Form (gocvcc.com)

3. Include a check for the $25 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot.

Make checks payable to: CVCC and write Volleyball Camp in the memo line.

4. Mail the registration form, medical info-emergency contact form and your $25 non-refundable deposit to:

Basic Skills Camp (8–11 a.m.) is geared to beginning players and is offered for players entering first through fifth grades

Basic Skills Camp is a three-day camp designed for players that want to be introduced to the game of volleyball. Our staff will teach the fundamental skills of volleyball in a fun, active and positive camp environment. We will also train the basics of team concepts, serve receive and team defense. The Basic Skills Camp is intended for the novice player to come away with improved basic skills, improved knowledge of team concepts and an increased love for the game.

This camp is designed for both girls and boys and focuses on teaching young athletes the fundamentals of the game, how to communicate with each other and creates an environment with as many ball contacts as possible. Exercises and drills will be used to teach hand-eye coordination, self-confidence, agility and motor skills.

This camp is maxed at 50 players so register early.


Intermediate Skills Camp (12–3 p.m.) is for sixth through 10th graders and will be applicable to entry level as well as experienced players

Intermediate Skills Camp is a three-day camp dedicated to entry level and experienced players entering sixth through eighth grade. In addition to primary skills, campers will explore intermediate team concepts and rotation offense and defense. The Intermediate Camp will provide focused, intensive training essential to improvement — no matter the ability level.

This camp is designed for both girls and boys and focuses on teaching young athletes the fundamentals of the game, how to communicate with each other and creates an environment with as many ball contacts as possible. Exercises and drills will be used to teach hand-eye coordination, self-confidence, agility and motor skills.

This camp is maxed at 50 players so register early.


4–7 p.m. Advanced Skills Camp is for players entering ninth through 12th grade who have at least two year of playing experience

Advanced Skills Camp is a three-day camp for high school junior varsity and varsity players who will train at the fundamentals of the game to strengthen the skills that make a successful high school player. These players will also be exposed to more in depth team concepts and strategies that promote skill mastery in an enthusiastic, intense environment. 

This camp is designed for both girls and boys and focuses on teaching young athletes the fundamentals of the game, how to communicate with each other and creates an environment with as many ball contacts as possible. Exercises and drills will be used to teach hand-eye coordination, self-confidence, agility and motor skills.

This camp is maxed at 50 players so register early.

8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All Skills Camp

This two-day camp is designed for players of all ability levels and will focus on training the fundamentals of the game including passing, setting, attacking, serving, blocking and defense. Team concepts, competition, nutrition and strength and conditioning will also be taught.

Campers will be divided up by skill and placed in groups where they can develop appropriately.

This camp is maxed at 50 players so register early!


2–7 p.m. ELITE Camp

This two-day camp is designed for the varsity player or elite club player that wants to bring their game to the next level. This camp will focus on advance training of all aspects of the game and is geared towards players who have the dream and potential to play college volleyball.

Serving Clinic

Our specialized serving clinic will help you a step at a time in developing and perfecting your serve. From improving an already great jump serve to simply learning how to get the ball over the net before middle school tryouts start, we can help all skill levels get better at the mechanics of your serve. 

Monday, July 26 – 11 a.m. to noon

Monday, July 26  – 3–4 p.m.

Thursday, July 29 – 1–2 p.m.

 

Position Clinic

This short but intense clinic is designed to improve upon any skill you choose. Campers will spend their session developing in one of the following areas: passing and defense, hitting or setting. If you would like to work on more than one of these skills, feel free to sign up for multiple sessions, just make note on the registration form which skill you will focus on during a particular time.
